SEND & Inclusion
Every Child. Every Young Person. Every Opportunity.
At Taqwa Institute, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where children and young people of all abilities can participate, grow and thrive.
We recognise that some children and young people may have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), additional learning needs, sensory differences, physical disabilities, social communication needs, emotional wellbeing challenges, or long-term health conditions. Our aim is to ensure that these needs do not become barriers to participation within our programmes and services.
Whether attending our educational programmes, youth activities, sports sessions, mentoring projects, wellbeing initiatives, community events or family programmes, we strive to ensure that every individual feels welcomed, valued and supported.

How We Support Children and Young People
Support may vary depending on individual needs and the nature of the programme. Our focus is always on helping children and young people engage confidently and successfully in our activities.
Working with Families
We recognise that parents and carers are experts in their children's needs.
We encourage families to share information about any additional needs, diagnoses, support plans, medical conditions or strategies that may help us provide the best possible experience.
By working together, we can better understand how to support each child or young person to participate safely, comfortably and successfully.
Safeguarding and Wellbeing
The wellbeing and safety of children and young people remains our highest priority. All staff and volunteers are expected to uphold our safeguarding policies and work to create environments that are safe, supportive and responsive to individual needs.
Faith, Compassion and Belonging
Our approach is inspired by Islamic values of mercy, compassion, respect and justice. We believe that every child and young person deserves to feel:
We are committed to building a community where differences are understood, strengths are recognised and everyone has the opportunity to contribute.
Speak to Us
If your child or young person has additional needs, we encourage you to contact us before attending a programme or activity.
We welcome conversations with families and will do our best to understand how we can support participation and inclusion across our services. Together, we can ensure that every child and young person has the opportunity to learn, grow, connect and flourish within the Taqwa Institute community.
