From 23rd August to 2nd September 2026, Travel with Taqwa accompanied a group of 11 women, 2 men and 2 children on a journey through the sacred cities of Madinah and Makkah, in collaboration with The Blue Lantern Initiative.

More than an Umrah journey, the programme was built around the theme “Women Around the Messenger ﷺ”, exploring the lives, sacrifices, scholarship, courage and legacies of the remarkable women who lived around the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Through visits to significant places across Madinah and Makkah, guided learning, reflections and shared conversations, participants were invited to encounter the Seerah not simply as history, but through the people and places that shaped it.

From the women who nurtured, taught, defended, sacrificed, migrated and served, to the sacred landscapes in which their stories unfolded, the journey created space to reflect on what their lives continue to teach us about faith, love, courage, service, leadership and legacy.

It was a journey of ‘Umrah, learning, sisterhood, reflection and spiritual renewal, walking through the sacred cities while rediscovering the women whose footprints remain woven into the story of Islam.
